Weekend in Dublin

Spent last weekend in Dublin. Dublin is a beautiful city. I found it quite similar to London, except that Dubliners are so friendly and chatty! Visited Trinity College, Dublin, Dublin Castle, Liffey River, Grafton Street. It was fantastic. Went to some trendy vegetarian restaurants too! More later...

British Summer

It's been a while since I last blogged. Spending more time in the library. Reminded of those good old days at university - laughter, freedom, pressure to do well (but of a different kind from now somehow). It's May Week again next week - it's been three years since I left university. Time flies by a little too fast. It is interesting to wonder where/what I'd be in three years' time. In the mean time, I am enjoying the British summer - the sunshine in between bouts of heavy showers.

Driving licence

I just passed my driving test! (with only two minors!!)

I am elated. I am going to have my proper driving licence very soon (not a provisional one anymore)! And I am going to be able to drive on my own and have my own car .....

Rejection

16 Feb 2007. My first rejection for a proper job. It's difficult not to feel disheartened....

(On second thought, perhaps it reflects the fact that I am not suited to this job. I should play up my strengths - which seem to fit better with the jobs that I really want... I have definitely learnt something from this process. )

It's like a Marathon...

I feel like I've been running a marathon for the last two weeks.... Last night when almost everything was finished (for one "project" anyway) I felt a bit lost not knowing what to do even though I was completely exhausted.

Some highlights of the past few weeks :

- long weekend in Cambridge (watched the movies Rain Man and Notting Hill). Thanks for being ever so nice!

- "activity" weekend in Hampshire (did a lot of crazy things that I don't normally do, challenged myself, and learnt something about myself too)

Happy New Year!

Christmas was spent with J's folks and Bonnie the labrador. It was nice and relaxing.

J and I went back to Macau for 2 weeks - it was a very nice break from work. We even spent new year's eve at a cantonese pop concert! Macau was nice - it's the place I grew up and spent 18 years in - it will always be nice. Hong Kong was very beautiful too. It was also nice to catch up with people in HK and Macau.
